" Why Me? Why Not?... "
Speech length must be at least 4 minutes but not over 5 minutes in length.

The Optimist Oratorical contest first began in 1928 and is the longest running program sponored by Optimist International. Each year nearly 2,000 Clubs hold an Oratorical Contest.
The contest is designed for teens to gain experience in public speaking and to provide them with an opportunity to win college scholarships.
The winners of the Club competition will then advance to a Regional Competition that will be made up of no more than 4 Zones.
The winners of this competition will then advance to our
East Missouri District Competition and will compete
against all finalists from the different regions
The male and female winner will be awarded a $1,500 scholoarship.
